After another crash of our Beaver airframe (pictured below) last weekend, we have taken the decision to start the transition to a more suitable airframe to our needs.
Our primary plan is to build our own simple airframe based on the this design. The fuselage will be specifically shaped to hold our imaging, computer and radio equipment. The advantage of manufacturing our own airframe is the quick turnaround time if we require spare parts after a crash.
In addition we are in the process of buying a 2.7m Pilatus Porter RC airframe that will serve as our large scale test platform as well as a possible backup to the Bushmaster airframe.
