UAV Challenge Results
This page is a short summary of our efforts in the 2016 UAV Challenge – the “Medical Express”. It was held at the Dalby Model Aircraft Club over October 4-6th 2016.
CanberraUAV came 1st place in this competition. Unfortunately we did not complete the challenge (and thus qualify for the full $50,000 prize) due to our communications relay UAV crashing during the mission.
Out of the 10 teams at the UAV Challenge, 3 teams made it to the search area and found Joe. 2 of these teams attempted a landing near Joe and 1 team (CanberraUAV) made it back to the base.
CanberraUAV would like to thank our sponsors for the 2016 UAV Challenge:

Imagery
We have released a full set of the imagery captured by our UAV during the 2016 UAV Challenge.
The full set (images, flight logs, waypoints) can be downloaded from: http://uav.anu.edu.au/OBC2016/CanberraUAV/
Note the images are in pgm format, which is a raw Bayer grid data from the PtGrey Chameleon colour camera. Software (pgm_convert.py) to process the images can be found at: https://github.com/CanberraUAV/cuav. Note this software is not (currently) compatible with Windows.
